Sourcing & Impact Transparency
From the Mountains of Tolima, Colombia
Our beans are grown by the Asociación Abierta de Productores al Futuro de Calarma (ASAPROFUCAL), a cooperative of 94 dedicated coffee producers in Chaparral, Tolima. Nestled between 1,600 and 2,100 meters above sea level, their farms produce premium Caturro, Pink Bourbon, and Red Bourbon varietals known for floral notes, medium acidity, and a bold, pronounced body.
Traditional, Careful Processing
Every step of production is done with care to preserve quality and protect the environment:
-
Manual harvesting during two harvests each year (April–July, October–December).
-
Concrete-tank fermentation for 24–30 hours, allowing natural internal fermentation that preserves unique cup character.
-
Double-washing and sun-drying for 15–20 days under canopy, ensuring clean, consistent flavor.
Commitment to Regeneration & Community
Since 2018, ASAPROFUCAL has partnered with Multicoop to strengthen sustainability and product quality. Their initiatives include:
-
Improved wastewater management and product cleaning practices.
-
Enhanced classification of varieties and controlled fermentation methods.
-
Participation in government-supported projects like “Productive Alliances”, co-financing a new wet mill facility.
-
Planning construction of the association’s first physical headquarters, supporting community growth.
